EventCalendar.tech is run by WeldonPC (weldonpc.com), 5829 Turney Rd, Garfield Heights, Ohio 44125. This page says what the site collects, why, and who can see it. Questions: info@weldonpc.com.
What you give us
- Your account: a username, your email address and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash. A new account is confirmed with a code sent to your email, and every sign-in asks for a code sent to your email.
- What you create: your organization’s name, your calendars, your events (title, description, location, times, repeat rule and colour), RSVPs, and the email addresses of the people you invite to your organization or share a calendar with.
- Your reminders: when you ask for an email reminder on an event, the site keeps which event, how long before it you want the email, your browser’s time zone (so the email arrives at the right local time) and whether it has been sent.
- Public links: if an owner or admin turns on a public link for a calendar, anyone who has that link can see the calendar and its events and subscribe to its iCal feed. Turning a link on needs Pro or the Pro trial; a link that was made keeps working until it is turned off.
What the site records on its own
- A session cookie. Each visit gets a
ci_sessioncookie, sent only over HTTPS, which keeps you signed in and protects the forms; your browser drops it about two hours after your last visit. The server keeps the matching session record with your IP address and deletes it about two hours after your last visit (a cleanup runs every five minutes). - Sign-up protection. Verification images and audio are generated and served by this site. No external CAPTCHA service receives your information. Temporary sign-up limits store keyed hashes of network and email identifiers with attempt counts; expired limits are removed when another sign-up is attempted.
- Sign-in records. Every sign-in attempt, successful or not, is recorded with the email address used, the IP address, the browser and the time, to protect accounts (for example, to spot someone guessing passwords). There is no automatic deletion of these records yet. Password-reset requests are also logged per IP address (at most three an hour), so the form cannot be used to flood someone’s inbox.
- Server logs. Like any website, the web server keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, page requested, referring site, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
The site sends email only to confirm a new account, to send sign-in codes, to reset a password, to deliver an invitation that a member of an organization sent, and to send the event reminders you ask for (to your own account’s address, at the time you chose; choose None on the event to stop one). It goes out from WeldonPC’s own mail server. There is no newsletter and no marketing email.
Events from PDF, photo or text
On a calendar you can add events to, Import events reads a PDF (including scanned pages), a photo, a screenshot, a UTF-8 text file or pasted text. PDFs may have up to six pages and be up to 10 MB; text may have up to 20,000 characters. You review the events before saving them.
PDFs are rendered into pictures of their pages on this server in a private temporary folder, which is deleted before the pages are sent to the AI server. If processing is interrupted, automatic cleanup removes that folder within fifteen minutes. Text is sent as text. The original upload is deleted as soon as it has been prepared. PDF pages and text are held in memory only while being read; neither is saved to an account or chat. The same review and fair-use rules below apply to all sources.
- Your browser makes it smaller first (at most 2,048 pixels on its longest side) and sends it to this site, which redraws it in memory. That also removes the details a camera adds to a photo, such as where it was taken.
- It is read by WeldonPC’s own AI server (weldonpc.tech), run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site, not by an outside AI company. Only the picture goes there, with fixed instructions: not your name, email address or calendars.
- The picture is not kept. This site reads the file your browser sent into memory and deletes the uploaded file straight away; it holds the picture in memory only while it is being read and never saves it. The AI server reads it without saving it to any account or chat.
- The events read from it wait on this site for at most ten minutes for you to review them, and are deleted as soon as the review screen has them. Nothing is added to your calendar until you press Import; then they are saved like any event you add by hand.
- Fair use: one person can read up to 10 pictures an hour and 30 a day, and import up to 300 events a day from pictures. To count them, the site keeps a number per person and per IP address until the end of that day (UTC), filed under a code made from the account number or the address with a secret key that only this server has, so the address cannot be read back from it.
Payments
When paid checkout is available, Stripe processes monthly subscriptions and provides invoices and billing management. We send Stripe your billing email, organization name and an organization identifier. Stripe collects your payment information directly; this site does not receive or store your full card details. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, subscription status and billing period to provide paid features. You can manage payment details, change plans or cancel from Settings → Billing. The 14-day Pro trial needs no card and ends by itself. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
Services the pages load from other sites
To draw its pages the site loads Tailwind CSS from cdn.tailwindcss.com, Alpine.js from cdn.jsdelivr.net, and the Inter typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Calendar pages also load FullCalendar from cdn.jsdelivr.net. When your browser fetches these files, those services receive your IP address and browser details, as any website does. The home and pricing pages also load the adengine.us ad described under Advertising.
Who can see your information
Members of your organization see its calendars and events according to the role they were given. A calendar marked Private is seen only by the person who made it. WeldonPC can see account details to run, secure and support the service. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account permanently deletes your account: your sign-in details, memberships, email reminders and RSVPs; the private calendars you made, with their events; and any organization you own that has no other members, with everything in it. Any subscription for an organization being deleted is canceled before deletion, stopping future renewals; existing invoices and payment records remain with Stripe. If an organization passes to another owner, its subscription stays with it and can be managed by its owner or admins. An organization you own that has other members passes to one of them, and the shared calendars and events you added to an organization stay with it. The sign-in records described above are kept for security, and your session record is deleted about two hours after your last visit.
Advertising
The home page and the pricing page show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. Pages you see while signed in, the sign-in and sign-up pages, shared and embedded calendars, and this privacy page show no ad.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests.
- No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
- How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
- What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Nothing about you is sold or shared.
